94 POINTS, DECANTER
"This Chardonnay comes from the Mill Station Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast AVA and is made by Dan Ricciato, director of viticulture for renowned consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Ricciato launched this label in 2017. The wine centres on a seductive, dense, and attractively textured mid-palate, delivering fleshy apricot and toasty Meyer lemon notes. A long, spicy ginger thread carries through to the finish and also shines in the bouquet, where it mingles with toasty brioche aromas."
ABOUT THE VINEYARD
Mill Station Vineyard sits just outside Sebastopol in the Sonoma Coast AVA, where steep slopes and dry-farmed, old-vine Chardonnay come together to produce fruit of serious depth and character. Planted in 1973, the site benefits from a cool coastal climate and well-draining soils that push the vines to dig deep. The result is intensely concentrated grapes that reflect the rugged beauty and nuance of Sonoma Coast terroir.
